What GetMy.Kids is

GetMy.Kids is a free tool for parents and guardians in a community to coordinate who is picking up which children, and when. It is operated on a volunteer, non-commercial basis by an individual. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any school, school district, or educational institution.

Who can use it

You may use GetMy.Kids if you are a parent, guardian, or trusted adult participating in pickup coordination for children in the associated community. You must be 18 or older to create an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, including phone numbers, email addresses, and pickup details.

Your account

You agree to provide accurate contact information and to keep it current. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account. You agree not to use GetMy.Kids to harass, deceive, or endanger any child or adult, and not to share account access with anyone outside the intended community.

The service is provided as-is

GetMy.Kids is provided without warranty of any kind. Notifications may be delayed, missed, or fail to deliver due to factors outside our control, including carrier issues, email provider filtering, device settings, and service outages. You should not rely solely on GetMy.Kids for time-critical pickup coordination. Always confirm pickup arrangements directly when in doubt.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of GetMy.Kids is not liable for any damages, losses, or harms arising from use of or reliance on the service, including missed or delayed notifications, incorrect information, service outages, or any decision made based on information in the app. This service is offered as a community convenience, not as a guaranteed communication channel.

Messaging and communication

GetMy.Kids sends SMS messages and emails to parents who have signed up for the service and explicitly provided their phone number. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Messages fall into four categories:

  1. one-time login authentication links sent when a user requests to sign in
  2. notifications when a new child pickup arrangement is created in the user's community
  3. notifications when a pickup that concerns the user is modified or cancelled
  4. day-of reminders sent on the morning of a scheduled pickup.

Users opt in by entering their phone number and accepting consent language during signup at getmy.kids. Users can opt out at any time by replying STOP. All messages identify the sender as "GetMy.Kids" and include opt-out instructions where appropriate.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate any account that appears to be misusing the service, impersonating another user, or acting in a manner that endangers children. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will make reasonable effort to notify active users of material changes.
